Shrug- to raise and contract. She shrugged her shoulders at the comment.
Pelting- to be throwing with strength. He threw a glove-pelting fastball.
Squawking- to utter a loud, harsh, cry. The birds were squawking overhead.
Restrain- to hold back from action. I had to restrain myself from getting mad at her.
